Ross selected for 2014 J. K. Aggarwal Prize from the IAPR
Dr. Arun Ross, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, has been selected to receive the 2014 J.K. Aggarwal Prize from the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). Previous recipients are Bernhard Schölkopf (Max Planck Institute, 2006), Song-Chun Zhu (UCLA, 2008), Antonio Torralba (MIT, 2010), and Rene Vidal (Johns Hopkins, 2012). The prize is given to a scientist, under the age of 40, who has brought a substantial contribution to a field that is relevant to the pattern recognition community and whose research work has had a major impact on the field.The citation for the award reads as follows: "For contributions that advance the state of art in biometric technologies and extend biometric infrastructure." The award will be given at the 22nd International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) that will be held in Stockholm, Sweden in August 2014. Professor Ross will be giving a plenary talk at this event as part of this award.
