Yin, Liu, Chen, and Kramer received the Best Student Paper Award at WACV 2014

Xi Yin, Xiaoming Liu, Jin Chen, and David M. Kramer received the Best Student Paper Award sponsored by Microsoft at the IEEE Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV 2014), Steamboat Springs, CO for their paper entitled, "Multi-leaf Alignment from Fluorescence Plant Images." This paper presents a novel computer vision algorithm to jointly perform leaf segmentation and alignment from a plant image, which has a wide range of applications in plant growth modeling, photosynthesis analysis, and high-throughput plant phenotyping. This paper was one of the three Best Student Papers chosen from the 152 papers presented at the conference.

Xi Yin is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University. Xiaoming Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University. Jin Chen is an Assistant Professor of MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Michigan State University. David M.
